Finally we're off

AN 18 hour flight with a stopover in Hong Kong for an hour.

Luckily, the flight was not full and we managed to get a row of three and plonked her in the middle.

Here she is after having woken up - two hours before landing - watching Dora on her own personal entertainment system.

La Strada

EVERYTIME we go to a restaurant I'll ask for a little something for Z.

If it's chinese, then a small scoop of white rice or a few strings of noodles.

If it's Italian then a handful of pasta - plain, no sauce.

She would usually have eaten lunch but this gives her an opportunity to learn to feed herself - and more importantly, keeps her busy while I eat.

At La Strada today, compliments of the chef, Z got some spag in a white truffle cream sauce which she devoured.

She is really liking her truffles.

Then, warmed by her appreciation of fine food, the waiter brought another course. This time spag pomodoro.

In between, Uncle Steve tried to teach her to appreciate fine wine by showing her how to sniff at the cork.

Risotto and truffles

BRUNCH at The Four Seasons today to celebrate Jo's birthday.

We brought Z along to help blow out the candles and to meet Aunty Lis, whom she liked very much, happily sitting on her lap through much of lunch.

Despite already having eaten, Z proceeded to scoff down an entire serving of risotto infused with white truffle oil, which was generously topped with black truffle shavings.

Very sophisticated taste, I must say.

And she even fed herself!

Une petite fille a Au Petit Salut

OTHER parents are amazed that Z will sit quite happily at the table for two hour lunches.

I think she knows that if she didn't, she would spend a lot of time at home!

Today, as I wolfed down tuna tartare, duck confit and a selection of cheeses, Z got to munch on thickly buttered bread, a few rocket leaves, cheerios and mango from home, a slice of cheese and about ten pieces of penne in tomato sauce.

Maybe that's what kept her satiated.

Aunty Jo also helped Z stay entertained by letting her yank dangly things from her ears.

Tee Vee is better than playing

AFTER dinner of delicious fried rice, everyone got to watch 15 mins of Hi-5.

Zoe was the only one with TV snacks, which she happily shared with her friends.

Brunch at the Cricket Club

WE walked across the river to the Cricket Club to join the Dawson family for brunch.

Zoe's two babysitters, Amelia and Hayley, kept her entertained while the parents pigged out.

Sticky Face

EVERY morning when Z gets up, she has her milk and then I try to get her to sleep a little longer.

Usually it's in vain. She climbs on us, calls out to us real loud and plays horsey on our bladders.

So I get up and turn on the TV for her. D just flips over and falls back to sleep.

Today we headed to the Farmer's Market down the road to stock up on fresh veges, bread and fruit.

Z discovered the wonders of a sticky bun.

Then D headed to the pool to catch some rays and I took Z to the Arcade at the Pier.

After that we headed to the swings at the beach before heading back to the hotel - and to Palm Springs.

Passport photo

A PASSPORT sized photo of Z was needed.

So I made one this morning.

But I guess I should have taken it before she went to the park.

Playgroup

SUCH cuteness as they all ate dinner together.

Z needed some help though.

Barbie Bag

I BOUGHT Z a handbag after she refused to hand back mine on several occasions.

It comes with a powder compact, mobile phone, car keys with an alarm, credit cards and a camera.

She just loves it and carries it around like an old amah.

Here is Z getting ready for Sophie's party at Senses, Kl Hilton, on Sunday.

Sophie's Full Moon

CHAMPAGNE was flowing at Z's god-sister's one month celebrations.

Z was quite enchanted with the beautiful baby girl and kept trying to sayang her, ie *whack* *smack*.

But the sweet baby stayed blissfully unaware and just kept on snoozing...

Here is Z with her Godma and baby Sophie.

Z hangs out with her father and godpa - and boyfriend Matty.

With Auntry Irene, Sophie's Godma.

Lee Sze turns one

WE headed back to KL this weekend to P.A.R.T.Y - baby party, that it.

How times have changed.

Our first trip back to KL since returning to Singapore kicked off with Lee Sze's first birthday celebration at the Dynasty Hotel ballroom.

Zoe got some cool tattoos, including this mean looking one on her back.

And here's some rare photos of our little family and just the two of us.
