Zoo take two

OUR second visit in December - in less than a week, after months of absence!

This time we were there on a weekday so we got to ride the tram - and in the front row nonetheless!

Here are Z and S waving at themselves in the driver's rear view mirror.



The girls also managed to hitch a ride on some animals.

And crossed a bridge when they came to it - a good life lesson to be had!



Aunty C turned up with the sweet shy Alexis. C's toned arms are the result of having carried the not-so-little one the entire loop of zoo trail!

Maybe A needs some serious walking shoes like Z, huh Alyssa?

Emma's first zoo outing

MONDAY morning is a good time to head to the zoo as the crowds are thin even during the school holidays.

Z has been bugging to go and since D had the day off, we scheduled this outing.




Luckily the rain stopped by 9am and the sun popped out.

M really enjoyed her first zoo visit - between naps.

She wasn't really interested in the animals. There was a cool breeze, the leaves were blowing about and the sun peaked through the clouds made pretty patterns.

Hair

POOR M.

Her long hair tickles her face and ears, making her scratch up her cute little face.

So I've had to tie up or pull back her fringe - sometimes in a most unflattering way.

Bukit Timah Hill

CHECK.




Z actually climbed all the way up on her own two feet!

We even went the hard way up towards the end, via the steep 119 "steps".

I got her to count the steps between huffs and puffs which made it quite fun for her.

D and I were quite amazed. Not a bad effort for such a little tike.

And there were no whines or grumbles or pleas to be carried!



On the way down, we collected some leaves and twigs that had fallen along the path.

We planned to draw a big tree to stick these on - an art project to celebrate her accomplishment.

Z had to be carried half of the way down the hill, but looking for bits of "treasure" for her souvenir project kept her going strong and had her in a very cheerful mood.

That was until we reached the bottom.

D decided to chat to the ranger, who spotted us holding literally two twigs and seven dried leaves.

He said we weren't allowed to take it home, even though we had found it along the walking path in a bid for renewal and recycling in the park.

"You can teach her," he said.

Poor Z was MOST upset... Big heartbroken wails when we returned her precious treasure - ie. by dumping it back on the ground.

"Why must throw away!?!?" She cried.

To the mall

WE weren't even going to a fancy dress party but to Plaza Singapura to pick up some diapers and fabric from Spotlight.

Yet Z and M both got dolled up. Z on her own accord and M, thanks to the helper.





As we were about to step out, Z says to M: "Meimei you look like Papa; I look like Mama!"

Emma's first trip

HEADED to Phuket over the long weekend for a blue sky holiday.

Emma had a fantastic time. Only problem was the plane descent which freaked her out.

As usual, Z was all fun and laughter. Here she is "helping" the resort gardeners prune the flower beds.



Her fave thing in Phuket is watching the sunset cultural show.






And taking away with her some "culture".

Out and about

IT took four months and five days for me to finally take the two girls out by myself.

It is not that I can't handle them both alone but it's the journey in the car that's intimidating.

A freaking out baby in an enclosed space is just not my idea of fun.

Anyway yesterday we went to Aunty P's - a five minute car ride from our house.

Em was so chill that it gave me courage to travel further afield.

Right now the three of us are at TC.

I have feet!

IT'S fascinating watching your baby blossom with each new discovery.

I think it is just as fun whether you are a first time parent or a mother of five.

Today, Emma discovered her feet and how her big toe tastes as good as her thumb - well, almost.

Tennis Tournament

WE spent a lot of time this weekend at the Tanglin Club.

D was playing in a tennis tournament with Uncle R.

They managed to claw their way to the semis. *clap clap* ;P

The weather was great. Cool but not wet.

I brought the girls to cheer on the team and Z insisted on getting dressed up for the occasion.

And a newly acquired Hello Kitty headband, which didn't really match her Liverpool Kit.



Emmy got to tag along too.

The cot

TODAY at naptime, Zoe jumped into Emma's cot (originally Z's) for a laugh.

It was rather squishy and I was kinda afraid a knee might dent Emma's head but all was well.
