Something fishy

BOTTLETREE Park was a fun day out for the kiddies young and old.

We caught guppies in the pond over beers and packets of crisps.

Then headed back with our catch of prawns and guppies.

But the guppies were a little bony.

Are we in Singapore?

WE'VE been thinking if we should make a trip to Canada in August.

But Canada is just so far away, isn't it.

Hiking in Whistler would be fun though I imagine it would a lot like it does here at Pierce Reservoir - but much much cooler.

It was so pretty that we did a little impromptu photoshoot:

Becky turns 3

A ROYAL party for Z's godsister with princesses, princes, fairies and pirates.

Good timing as Z's song of the moment is "Happy Birthday to ZoEEEEEE" and her fave thing is blowing out candles, as you can see here she had her candle all staked out.

Her close attention to the cake left a huge hole in the icing, which she promptly licked off her fist. Good!

And here she is very contented after the cake...

Short short fringe

GAVE little Z a haircut. She moved at a critical moment.

With or without ponytails, the fringe still looks a bit wrong. Oh well, it will grow out.

Thanks to Aunty Melina, Ely and Chingy for the pretty party dress all the way from the UK!

Sunday morning

WE went for a stroll along East Coast Parkway while D rollerbladed.

It was actually a nice day despite this picture.

Stopped to play in the sand before tucking into a very hearty Carl's Jr lunch. Yum.

Terrific Twos

A LOT has happened since Z hit the big two.

No sign of tantrums and frustrated rages. Instead, she is full of delicious surprises. She chatters non-stop and laughs at the quirkiest of things. She is such a smarty pants and really such a delight.

Also, she has been most co-operative.

When she hit two...

I took away her diapers - Yes, she is now officially potty trained!
I took away her milk bottle - Hooray, no more having to keep those niggly Dr Brown bottle parts clean!
I made her go to school four days a week, up from two - Freedommmmmm!

Now, her PaPa would like for her to stop using the pacifier when going beddy but hey, whatever lets me sleep in I say we can keep!

Z on stage

FROM Kongkie's new phone camera - the quality's quite good.

There was a stage set up in the basement of Parkway Parade and Z jumped the barriers to pose. She still has to learn about the floor markers though.

MY little swinger at the Paragon Shopping Centre playground.

Z grabs onto any overhead bar and launches herself:

Grandma Rita's Bday

DRESSED in her fav new outfit, Z was a hit with the reles.

For the first time, Z stayed out the entire duration of a family dinner.

Normally she has to be in bed by 8 (used to be 7).

Luckily, she had a nap from 1 - 5 pm, which allowed her to keep her eyes - at least one of them - opened till 9pm.

Or maybe it was all the running about with the cousins that managed to keep the Sandman away.

Tinkerbell

JULIAN and Rachel got Z the cutest little outfit for her birthday.

Here he is dressing her:

Of course Aunty Cho couldn't resist the photo opp:

All the kiddies play while the foggies drink:

Coasters

SENTOSA is a great place to spend Sundays.

We leave the house about the same time - D on his bike and us in air-conditioned comfort - and while D is making his way there, Z and I dig in.

This week, we had brunch at Coasters which has such a nice family holiday-ish vibe to it.

Almost as if we weren't in Singapore.

Here is Zoe very upset at the bucket's misbehaviour

Mothers' Day

WENT to Made in China at Haw Par Villa for a nostalgic dinner.

Z got herself lost in a small town somewhere in Souther China.

We tried to hire a new Amah but she was having none of it.

Ethan arrives

JUST a day after Z's birthday, baby Ethan popped out.

But because of Z's HFMD, I thought it best to wait three weeks before we saw the little tike.

He is just so cute!

Zoe really needs to work out her camera smiles...

Sentosa Sunday

FOR some reason, Zoe thinks smiling means scrunching up her face.

So we end up with a lot of pictures that suggest a severe case of constipation.

We played in the sand and blew about a litre of bubbles, while Papa cycled over from the mainland.

Then it was to the club for a shower and a dim sum lunch. Burp.

Zoe turns TWO

MY baby isn't a baby anymore.

She's a toddler!

Bring on the Terrible Twos!

My future's so bright, I gotta wear shades.

Zoe's cake

WHAT'S a kid's birthday cake without food colouring?

I made Vanilla Strawberry cupcakes for Zoe's birthday as we thought it best if she didn't blow on a big one, considering her recent recovery from the very contagious HFMD.

We had a quiet tea party with the grandfoggies, her uncle and aunt and Poh Poh over (Kongkie was still on his six week holiday in Perth).

The guest of honour was Elmo, one of her favourite characters.

Zoe had been practicing how to blow out the candles after being sung "Happy Birthday", but she couldn't wait it out and the candles had to be relit twice.

Her appetite was back with a vengence. She polished off a couple of sausage rolls...

... and her cake (minus the icing).

At first, I thought she might have a problem eating Elmo but the proof is in the half eating pudding here.
