FROM Kongkie's new phone camera - the quality's quite good.

There was a stage set up in the basement of Parkway Parade and Z jumped the barriers to pose. She still has to learn about the floor markers though.

Grandma Rita's Bday

DRESSED in her fav new outfit, Z was a hit with the reles.

For the first time, Z stayed out the entire duration of a family dinner.

Normally she has to be in bed by 8 (used to be 7).

Luckily, she had a nap from 1 - 5 pm, which allowed her to keep her eyes - at least one of them - opened till 9pm.

Or maybe it was all the running about with the cousins that managed to keep the Sandman away.

Coasters

SENTOSA is a great place to spend Sundays.

We leave the house about the same time - D on his bike and us in air-conditioned comfort - and while D is making his way there, Z and I dig in.


This week, we had brunch at Coasters which has such a nice family holiday-ish vibe to it.

Almost as if we weren't in Singapore.

Mothers' Day

WENT to Made in China at Haw Par Villa for a nostalgic dinner.

Z got herself lost in a small town somewhere in Souther China.



We tried to hire a new Amah but she was having none of it.

Ethan arrives

JUST a day after Z's birthday, baby Ethan popped out.

But because of Z's HFMD, I thought it best to wait three weeks before we saw the little tike.

He is just so cute!

Sentosa Sunday

FOR some reason, Zoe thinks smiling means scrunching up her face.

So we end up with a lot of pictures that suggest a severe case of constipation.

We played in the sand and blew about a litre of bubbles, while Papa cycled over from the mainland.


Then it was to the club for a shower and a dim sum lunch. Burp.

Zoe turns TWO

WHAT'S a kid's birthday cake without food colouring?


I made Vanilla Strawberry cupcakes for Zoe's birthday as we thought it best if she didn't blow on a big one, considering her recent recovery from the very contagious HFMD.

We had a quiet tea party with the grandfoggies, her uncle and aunt and Poh Poh over (Kongkie was still on his six week holiday in Perth).

The guest of honour was Elmo, one of her favourite characters.

Zoe had been practicing how to blow out the candles after being sung "Happy Birthday", but she couldn't wait it out and the candles had to be relit twice.

Her appetite was back with a vengence. She polished off a couple of sausage rolls...

... and her cake (minus the icing).

At first, I thought she might have a problem eating Elmo but the proof is in the half eating pudding here.

A real Princess and her castle

ZOE'S PakMo is just a spoiler!

She bought Z her own bouncy castle and wading pool.

It took quite a while blowing it up, as you can imagine.

But Z just loved it.

Quarantined

JUST hours before we were due to leave for Bangkok on a 4 day shopping holiday, I spotted a couple of ulcers in Z's mouth.

HFMD.

Somehow I knew the holiday was doomed from the start.

I even kept her away from school/other children for the entire week to make sure she was germ free AND allowed a course of antibiotics (HER FRIST EVER!!!) to be prescribed for a bout of bronchitis but to no avail.

Argh!

Poor kid had an awful weekend, her mouth full of blisters and sores. Needless to say, her mother didn't have a fun time either.

Thank God we discovered it here and not when we arrived in BKK.


Stuck at home, all Z wanted was her pacifier - and me.

Toilet training begins

SORRY about this gross pic but it's just so funny!

We just started toilet training and Z hasn't quite latched onto the idea that one is supposed to do it IN the pot, not ON it.

Tea at St Regis

TOOK Z to the very chic Remede Spa opening.

While we sipped champagne, Z was super pampered.

She was offered fresh pineapple juice, chocolate truffles (which she wasn't allowed!), and dinner on the house.

IT was a hot Sunday so we all felt very sorry for Barney, who evidently has been on a diet.

A late sleep-in

THIS is the longest Zoe has ever slept through the night.

Especially considering she went to bed at 8pm last night.
