Our little vege patch

THE weather was cool and cloudy when we decided to harvest the paltry fruit of our garden.

It was a good thing, Z decided to taste the bittergourd instead of the chilli padi.


Check out the teeth marks. She got a mouthful of bitter juice - and she sure wasn't having anymore to do with it.


Since we were outdoors and the weather was good - for once - Z had a picnic dinner.

Much tastier than a raw bittergourd.

Go Go White Rabbits

IT started off as civilised play...



...but turned into an hour of mayhem. Here's proof:



Then before things got too out of hand, it was dinner time.

I'm not sure if it was a good idea to have taken the kids to the rather fancy White Rabbit as it was kind of a downer after the playgym with it's dim tealights lit interior (ie. no primary colours)...


But once the delicious Mac and Cheese arrived, the kids got a second wind. The Mommies lapped up cocktails and a couple bottles of vino, so in the end everyone was happy - and merry!

Miss Loving

JUST took a look at Z's school website and there's a picture of her from the back doing her little waddle.

This month she was won an award as Miss Loving for being "very gentle and kind to all her friends".

According to her teachers: "She is always the first to show love and acceptance towards her new classmates".

Botanic Gardens on a rainy Sunday

D WENT for a run while we walked, fed the fish and played on the grass.

Tried to get Z to pose with a smile in front of the very lovely Mother and Child bronze sculpture Joy but she insisted on putting on her Barney face.


Luckily, bribes of Cheerios and sunflower seeds led to big smiles.

Feeding day at the Zoo

WE bought a three in one pass which will allow us unlimited visits for a year to the Singapore Zoological Gardens, Bird Park and Night Safari.

Today, Z mustered up enough courage to feed the animals.

Z rather bravely shoved carrot sticks into the giraffes' mouth. But every time they took food from her, she'd get the shudders. They had very long tongues which she thought rather icky.





Z was much less squeamish with the fluffy white rabbits.

Aerin turns 3

SOMETIMES Z is quite the little observer.


But when she gets warmed up, she's in the thick of things.

The Olympics

SO they say a kid's height at 2 years of age doubled will be his or her
eventual height.

Well, even if her height doubles at 2.5 years... she still won't even be able to smell his armpits.

On the Star Ferry

SO far, this may be the highlight of her trip.

The ferry was pitching in the rain, but Z loved the rocking. She found her sea legs pretty quick.

The choppy water was captivating - and deep.


During the trip, Z entertained me - and some tourists - with her rendition of "row row da boat, row row da boat... crocodile screammmmm".


We had a great afternoon just pottering about around the ferry terminal. I must say a very cost effective way (HK$2.40 each way which works out to be about S$1) of keeping her entertained for quite a while!

The Peak

WE wanted to take Z on the tram but the queue was soooooooooooooooooooo long so we hopped into a cab.

Had a delicious dinner at a very kid friendly resturant.

On the way back to the hotel, after a bumpy bus ride down the peak (again the tram line was astounding), Z decided it was time for a photo shoot.

Dim Sum

Disneyland

ON a super hot and humid day, we braved the weather and the crowds.

The first ride was what else but "It's a small world". Z loved it, which was a great start.

After that however, every ride/show was a dismal failure - Mickey's 3D Philharmonic, The Lion King Show, the River Boat Cruise in AdverntureLand and even the Pooh Bear honeypot ride. Z freaked in all of them and we had to walk out.

Her nap time coincided with the Midday parade, which was a real pity as she would have simply adored it.

So this is the closest she got to the Disney characters...



I think she was just a little too young for Disney... and we were a little too hot for it.

We headed home by 3pm - utterly exhausted!!

Off to Hong Kong

SNOOP and Z had a great time on board.

Mac N cheese, apple juice and lollies, then a snooze and a movie.

In no time, touch down!
